Who knew getting a sign could be so complicated? Have no fear, for IMPACT SIGNS is here to help make this decision process as easy for you as possible. We'll break it down into groups of products available and then dig a little deeper into choosing the right type of substrate. Why waste anymore time, let's jump right in.....
Yard signs are typically made of a corrugated plastic. They usually measure 18" tall by 24" wide and are easily stuck into the ground with a wire stake. They are weather resistant and will withstand the outdoor elements. These signs are awesome for yard sales, congratulations, vehicle sales, and much more. An added benefit to these hard working little signs... they are incredibly inexpensive! If you're looking for something a bit more permanent, real estate signs are the way to go. Real estate signs are typically made with a metal face that is inserted into an angle iron frame. While these signs are also stuck into the ground, they tend to hold up quite a bit better to winds. The construction is more solidly built. You can easily have a new face made and swapped out eliminating the need to purchase a whole new frame. Keep those hard earned dollars if you can!
Magnets work great on most vehicles. They provide the option to easily remove and reuse on multiple areas, vehicles, or even temporary advertisement on a car. These handy signs are super easy to apply yourself and can be used and reused over and over again. They only require a simple cleaning on the surface it is going on and the back of the magnet itself. They store flat and take up very little space when they aren't being used. The standard size for these are 12" tall by 24" wide and tend to be a good universal fit for most all vehicles. Much like the yard signs, they are very affordable and offer exceptional advertisement when needed while still allowing for easy removal and no extra cost of either an install or a removal. Yet again, another money saver!
Window graphics can be simply a novelty purpose or serve as business marketing. Car windows, glass doors, business windows, and interior glass walls are some very popular places that window graphics are used. These can range in price depending on complexity and size, of course. Both uses are extremely popular for personal and commercial use, though. Typically, bright colors are recommended to be used as windows tend to appear dark from a distance. The contrast allows for the best visual appearance. The most common vinyl choice here is simply white cut vinyl. However, yellows, oranges, silver, and any bright color will work. You also have the option to print graphics if there will be multiple colors used or a specific color match is needed. Choosing to go with window graphics can either add to vehicle lettering, complement a full (or partial) wrap, or even hold it's own and stand alone as the sole graphics.
Wraps, in my opinion, tend to be the most eye-catching and add the most bang for your buck. What's even better about these wraps is that you can modify them to fit just about anyone's budget. Most people think that wraps have to fully cover the vehicle that it's going on, but in reality, you can do a partial wrap and still make a WOW impression! Of course, the less material that you will need will inevitably lower the overall cost. Whether you decide to go with a full or a partial wrap, vehicle lettering and window perforation can both simultaneously be seamlessly worked into the design. This allows for some really cool possibilities. Be sure to talk with your graphic designer when you are in the initial stages of brain storming ideas and express any concerns or ideas and even pictures that you may have found that you would like to use as inspiration for your custom design. The more information that you give us, the better your finally project will be, and I assure you, the designer will appreciate any help and input you have to help guide the process quicker and easier for everyone involved! We are here to listen to you, help bring your unique ideas to fruition, and guide you in the best possible direction!
Vehicle lettering is a very popular choice for businesses. This type of signage is most commonly found on doors of pickup trucks. However, it is not limited to just that location. Vans take great advantage of this as they tend to be moving billboards with all the surface area the sides typically have. Vehicle lettering can also be applied to windows to either utilize more space or eliminate sticking any graphics at all to the vehicle paint. This is a great option when you have a smaller budget to work with.
Formed letters make a very professional impression. These signs can be made out of multiple materials and range in price. This option is normally only utilized by businesses but look unbelievable when they are installed. To further explore the unique possibilities formed letters offer, contact Impact Signs and ask what impressive options are available to you! Keep in mind though, when deciding to purchase this type of signage, a professional installation is highly recommended because exact placement and spacing is a must with these. Tools are required to drill into and attach each individual letter to the side of the building or wall and often times a lift is also needed to reach the intended area. Having someone who is an expert in this and who has experience is very highly recommended to avoid other unnecessary costs that can arise if the individual doesn't completely know what they are doing. You can have confidence and be reassured that our installers at Impact Signs will get the job done correctly for you and take the stress out of this part of the project.
Aluminum signs are very popular with parking type signage. In particular, parking signs are usually 18" tall by 12" wide and come with rounded corners. These signs can be made in any size though, and obviously hold up very well outdoors. They are a bit heavy so consideration needs to be taken when deciding to purchase an aluminum sign.... Where are you installing it? How are you attaching it to the building? Will I need a frame built to support the sign face? Will I need Impact Signs to install it for me?
Alupanel signs are much like the aluminum and can come as large as a 5 foot by 10 foot sheet. For exceptionally large signs, multiple sheets can be placed side by side to accomplish an even larger area. The information and images that are shown on the sign will flow effortlessly across all panels to appear as one single sign. These signs have a thin aluminum front and back with a solid plastic core. These signs are a bit more rigid than the aluminum signs and hold their shape much easier than aluminum signs do. This means that less support is needed than you would otherwise need with aluminum ones.
PVC is a plastic type substrate. While this material can withstand most of the outdoor elements, extreme heat will deform these signs. For that reason, this substrate is usually used indoors where the material will not warp. These signs can come in any variety of sizes up to 4 foot by 8 foot. When these signs are on the smaller size, anywhere from a 2 foot x 3 foot, or smaller, they are fairly light weight and can be easily applied with either double sided tape or Velcro. This substrate, especially the smaller sizes, hold their shape well and work great on table tops.
Acrylic signs can make some really outstanding signs. These signs can be mounted to walls with standoffs and make a wonderful impression. They have an extremely professional appearance and can be either clear or frosted which adds an interesting visual effect when they are installed just off of the walls. These signs are usually used inside of buildings. We recommend seriously considering using our installers to mount these signs as they are very heavy and can easily break if great care is not given when handling.
Banners are very popular. They are fairly inexpensive and reusable. Installation is very simple and can usually be done without having to pay for an install fee. When not being used, they will roll up and not take up much space. Just be sure not to fold these because the folds will leave creases. Keep in mind too, that these signs are not intended for permanent use as they tend to weather over time when used continuously outdoors. Banners also work wonderful as backdrops for photographs. Need a backdrop? We can print it!
As I mentioned just a few seconds ago, banners are not permanent signs. It's true that not all materials are intended for continual outdoor use. While there are lots of different options for both indoor and outdoor signage, they are not all interchangeable and should be selected for their exact location. Regardless of what your needs are, though, we do offer multiple products that will endure the riggers of any situation you have.
