DIY Versus the Professionals

Updated: Dec 10, 2020

Often times, customers will choose to install graphics themselves. While this is fine for small projects, taking advantage of one of our installers should definitely be taken into consideration when tackling a moderate to large graphic. There are many factors to consider and obstacles to avoid during the installation process. Not only that, but our installers have many years of experience which means they know exactly what to do if an issue should arise. There's also the added benefit of not having to repurchase another decal if something were to go wrong. The benefit of having graphics installed by professionals could really save you big bucks on the back end of things. ...and who doesn't like saving money?!

Decals can be very temperamental at times. There are many environmental conditions that can and will negatively affect the installation process and the longevity of graphics. Obviously, first and foremost, starting with a clean surface and work area is of upmost importance. Maintaining that environment throughout the installation can be quite difficult to do though. Having an enclosed area with very low to no traffic is the best way to accomplish this.

Climate control is just as important as cleanliness. Having a climate controlled bay area to work, like we do, offers the best possible application. Rain, humidity, wind, dust, extreme heat or cold temperatures, and direct sunlight will all create extremely poor and difficult conditions to apply graphics in. By utilizing our bay, we can eliminate all of these poor conditions. When we control all those variables and eliminate the harsh elements, we are able to create the absolute best product resulting in exceptional visual appearance as well as extending the longevity and durability of the graphics. This climate control is an absolute must when wrapping vehicles.

Let's be honest, even our professional installers will admit that applying graphics can be a bit aggravating at times. Having the experience that our team has, they know exactly how to react to any given situation. Once the vinyl is stuck, there is no redoing it without replacing it. So, essentially you get one shot at application. I don't think I need to explain any further as to how this can become a very costly mistake.

There's also a long list of specialized tools that our installers work with to create that perfect masterpiece. Having the right tool for the right job can really make the difference. Knowing how to use that tool is paramount. If you've ever watched a professional installer work you can quickly see the finesse and patience that is required of them. They literally mold a piece of art out of a flat sheet of vinyl. The technique, expertise, and skillfulness involved is mind blowing.
